1. Information We Collect

News Blocker does not collect, store, share, or transmit any personal data or browsing history to external servers.

All settings, blocked keywords, blocked website domains, and local counters are stored strictly locally on your device using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API.

2. How We Use Permissions

  • storage: Used exclusively to save your blocked keywords, blocked websites, and extension preferences locally in your browser.
  • activeTab & Host Permissions: Used strictly locally inside your browser to display the "Block" button on news cards and hide blocked news items or distracting news websites on pages you visit.
  • contextMenus: Used to allow you to block a selected keyword or phrase via the right-click menu.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer any user information to third parties. The extension operates 100% locally on your device and does not use any third-party analytics, tracking scripts, or remote code.

4. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
